Shhhh... He's Sleeping!!

Our boy slept through the night!! At six weeks and three days!! He slept from 8:45-6:15. Let's just hope he keeps it up and it isn't a fluke. I woke up at 4:00 to check on him, not getting up at 3:00 threw me off of my schedule. There he was, snoring away. Thank you, Mikey. Mommy needed the extra sleep.

Week Six!!

I'm six weeks old!!

Mr. and Mrs. Breier!!

That's right, I'm officially Mrs. Kimberly Breier!!

Let's just say that since we became engaged in December our first priority was our son. Sure we thought about the wedding, but again, we had a baby on the way and wanted to devote all of our attention to him being healthy and in perfect shape.

Fast forward to June when the little squirt arrived we took a deep breath and decided it was time to start speed planning for the wedding. Quite frankly, Dennis and I had been having a difficult time with keeping our names straight. I'd been calling him my husband for months and not correcting myself, and I found out just recently that he had been doing the same. We literally sat down three weeks ago and said... "I want to be married to you. Period." Would our original plans be wonderful, absolutely. But, truth is I love this man so much all I wanted is to be married to him. So, when considering what was important to us we decided to skip past all the hoopla a big wedding entails, go get hitched, be a family and throw a couple of bashes to celebrate along the way. That's exactly what we did. We got married Friday, July 24th by Judge Gerard, who was more eloquent than expected. He made our ceremony seem personal, not generic as you would expect at a courthouse ceremony. Our parents came in for the occassion, Jane serving as one witness and my mother as the other. Ten minutes after meeting Judge Gerard he was signing off on the legalities. It was beautiful!! I don't have words to explain how splendid it was. Following the ceremony we stopped for cocktails at the Atlas and Joe's (where Dennis and I met) before heading to what may have been some of the best food I've ever eaten at Joseph's. Champagne, crab cakes, Grey Goose, steak, a little more champagne. SOOO GOOD!! And, the company wasn't bad either. :) Then a tsunami rolled into Iowa City. Rain on your wedding day is good luck, right?! Dennis and I shared our first dance at The Piano Lounge (where we exchanged our first I love yous) to She's Got a Way. A few more cocktails were indulged in and then we were off to a night alone at the Sheraton. Thank you Auntie Gabby for watching our tyke!! And, Mom, Dad, Jane and Mike, we wouldn't have wanted anyone else there. Thank you for everything, especially sharing that moment with us. We love you.

I catch a glimpse of Dennis' ring and smile knowing how incredibly lucky I am to be with someone who loves me just as much as I love him. I can't wait to spend the rest of my days with him. God knows I will never be bored. Here's to 70 years or more. I love you, babe.

FYI- Friends Shower and Reception is September 26th in Iowa City followed by a family affair on October 10th at Dennis' parents' home in Darien. Information to follow.

Yeah, APPLE!!

Our computer is finally fixed and will be in my posession on Friday!! Whoaaaa... I can get caught up on here. I'm a little lost without my photos. Thank you to the generous Apple rep who fixed it for free (and Mike and Jane for taking it in). Dear Apple, you should probably build a store in Coralville.

Having our Apple down has really rocked my world. So, I'm a little behind when it comes to updating this blog. FYI, updates have been made all the way back to the end of May. New pics will be posted gradually as we try to fix our little computer. You may want to check back every once in a while. Wouldn't want you to miss a cute pic of our peanut.

Look at What I Can Do!!

Tummy time is really paying off. Proof that we are working on his lateral head movement!!

"Ok, Mom, what am I supposed to do?"

"Yeah, you're crazy. I can't do that yet!"

"Hold the phone! Maybe I can do this!!"

"I think I can. I think I can. I think I can."

"Almost there..."
"Who's the man?! That's right... I'm the man."

My Mommy and Daddy are Getting Married...

on Friday, July 24th!! Let's just say it's a bit different than originally planned, but it's going to be fantastic.

Love,

MLB

My Dearest Mikey...

Hello, my baby boy.

You have been in my life for four weeks. Four marvelous weeks. I'm sleep deprived, you've peed on me more than once, and I can't keep up with the laundry and it's all so marvelous. The truth is I find myself sitting with your daddy in our brief moments of silence and I'm pinching myself.

Your life, although you've only been here for four weeks, has rattled my world and calmed my crazy waters. Before you were here I knew you would impact my life so greatly, I just didn't know to what extent. I don't believe I could have comprehended it at that time. Now that it's my reality I am so happy I could just burst. You make me so happy.

The three little chubby rolls on each of your thighs make me giggle. I love running my hand over your barely there blonde hair. I would do anything to have you grasp my finger (with those giant paws of yours) for the entire day, but you're only interested in doing it in short intervals. Now when you hear me you turn your head to search for me and it melts my heart. Your bath time is our calmest time together. You're even more active when you sleep than when you are in your bathtub. To see you with your daddy makes time stand still. When I lay you down to sleep at night it takes all of my energy not to run up and check on you every two and a half seconds. The way your skin smells puts me at ease. I laugh outloud when you stretch after waking from your naps. It's just the cutest thing. You are more amazing than I could have imagined. I love you with all that I have.

Thank you, God, for this generous gift.

Hugs and kisses,

Mommy

I'm a Month Old!! (Excludively From MLB)

Whooaaa... I've been here for four full weeks!! Can you believe it?! Hello to my mommy's blog followers. I wanted to take a brief second to tell you what I've been up to and how I'm changing every day. This life stuff is crazy. So...

  • I weigh 11 lbs. 14 oz and am now 23 in. long. Apparently I'm huge.
  • My hair is still very blonde. Mommy says it's a little red in the sun, but I can't see it so I don't know.
  • Mommy says I have the Wojcik head, which I guess means it's huge. She also says it evens out my Breier nose.
  • My umbilical cord fell off on my eighth day on this planet. I think I have an innie, but Mommy thinks it's an inbetweenie.
  • I follow objects with my big blue eyes. And, I follow my mom when she's up and walking around.
  • I can hold my pumpkin head up for long periods of time. The view is amazing. During the day when Daddy is at work Mommy and I spend a lot of time on my play mat and airplane blanket. Sometimes I can see Mommy and sometimes I can't. So, we're working on that.
  • I love to sleep. I love everything about it. In fact I'm only waking up twice a night. Bedtime is at 9:00. Mommy gets me at 2:30 and Daddy gets me at 6:00ish. We spend a little time together, but I'm so tired I just fall right back asleep. I think my parents like the quiet time.
  • Baths are my favorite thing. The warm water almost puts me to sleep. I can't wait until I can play with all those cool toys I keep seeing in my bathroom.
  • I only cry when I'm starving, there is something in my diaper (love that powder stuff), or I want some daddy time.
  • Oh, my boucy seat. Enough said.
  • My new favorite toy is my music box in my crib that Gramma got me. Well, I love music in general so it's hard not to love.
  • I can't sleep when it's quiet.
  • I have finally found a way to hold onto Mommy. There's this thing that hangs around her neck, I believe she said it's called a shirt. I get a hold of that and can't let go. I even pull her in for kisses every once in a while.
  • When someone gives me a kiss now I kiss them back (a.k.a. open my mouth wide open)!
  • Play time with Daddy is so much fun. He wiggles my arms and legs, and I even "punch" him in the face every now and then and quite frankly I think it's hysterical. I "coo" instead of laugh right now, so we do a lot of that.
  • My carseat is AMAZING! It holds me nice and tight and I don't ever want to get out of it.
  • I'm still sleeping in Mommy and Daddy's room in my Pack 'n Play. That big crib thing is just too much space for me. Maybe I'll get it one day.
  • I sleep with my eyes open and I snore. Just like my Dad.
  • My grandparents and aunties and uncles rock my world.
  • I'm a lucky little guy. Lots of people come see me and toss around this "LOVE" word. I'm still trying to figure that one out, but when they say it they smile so I think it's a good thing.

Well, that's what's going on with me. Time sure is flying. I can't wait until I can drive a car!!

I'll write again soon. Gotta go take a napski!

Swaddle Me, Pampers.

We've experimented with a few different diapers since they became a big part of our day. Let's just say I will never put my son in something other than a Pamper. Period. Pampers it is.

Week Four!!

I'm four weeks old!!

Happy Birthday, USA!!

My first 4th of July!!
No fun fireworks pictures. It rained all day!!
Schucks.

Uncle Nate was just a little uncomfortable.

Snapshots of the Week (3)

"Burrrr... it's cold."

Daddy dressed me in this outfit.

We're just spending some quality time together.

Whoops...

Our Apple is currently under the weather. Hence, no new posts with pics. I'll be sure to update once this serious problem has been resolved.

Week Three!!

I'm three weeks old!!
