Our New Favorite Bath Toy...

For Christmas Michael received this awesome bath toy from Uncle Chris, Aunt Jane, Hannah and Adam that we just had to share with you!  Talk about a time consumer.  Michael could sit in the bathtub for another hour if I let him, playing his piano and catching bubbles with his tongue.  It's the Vtech Octobubble Orchestra!  If you are in the market for a gift for a tot I strongly recommend this little doohickey!  Honestly... AMAZING!  Thanks Breier Bunch for being awesome gift givers.

How to Make the Proper Snowball:: 101

I've been waiting for this day since our first snowfall.  The perfect mix- weather warm enough that Michael won't get frost bit in the cold, weather warm enough that Dennis and I can handle being outside for more than two minutes, and weather warm enough that Michael could learn how to make a snowball.  Today was the day.  We wrapped up our boys and headed out to a couple of different locations.  The first... a little scary.  Big kids sledding + my baby boy trying to sled for his second time ever = one anxious mother (enter ME).  So, we took off from the "I don't think we should be here" hill to our staple, Mark Delay Elementary school where there wasn't another sledder in sight and Michael had free range of the place.  Daddy fell two times while trying to load himself onto the sled.  Michael LOVED every second of rushing down the hills and bailing with his dad so they didn't hit a snow bank.  And, Michael learned how to make (and throw) a snowball.  It was priceless.  High pitched squeals every time he threw one and it landed in the direction of Den.  What a fantastic experience.  I tell you, my son is a boy meant to be outside.  We are anxiously awaiting spring!!

Alright, let's get this show on the road...

It's a lot further down than it looks.

Set to GO!

Let's go again, Dad!!

The Second Annual Breier Beat Down!

To cap off the holidays Jane hosted the Second Annual Breier Bread Beat Down.  Another top-notch year, if I am allowed to say so.  We were excited to have Meghan and Gail join us this year.  Both very talented ladies, I was curious to see what they could do with a stale gingerbread house and some frosting.  Impressive.  Impressive.  As usual, Mike broke out his handy dandy scoring sheets for the men to judge us on our talent.  The standings this year went as follows:

6.  Jane Breier (Candy Cane Lane)
5.  Danielle Breier (Road to the Super Bowl)
4.  Laura Breier (Wizard of Oz)
3.  Gail Pirics (Bird House)
2.  Kim Breier (Our First Christmas)
1.  Meghan Pirics (Candyland)

Meghan took me out.  I attempted a replica of our house with a few minor adjustments.  I really liked my house this year, and really loved everyone else's.  You never quite know what's going to happen when we start the event, but everything always turns out looking great.  Congrats to Meg.  You won't be so lucky next year.  I'm off to the drawing board for next year's house!

Christmas ::2010::

Christmas morning started with a present from the boys... they slept in until 9 AM!!  I was eternally grateful since I didn't go to bed until 4 AM.  We quickly changed diapers and sprinted downstairs for the boys to open presents from Santa.  Michael was in love with the entire experience.  He loved unwrapping presents, pushing buttons on his new gadgets and the endless hours of entertainment that boxes could provide.  William just enjoyed snuggling and watching his brother open all of his presents for him.  Then the rest of the clan came over- in their PJs of course- for food, games, a few drinks and more gifts.  The boys lucked out this year.  The list is too long to name everything they received.  You can catch a glimpse in the photos.

Another amazing holiday come and gone.  Now, to clean up!  Thank you to everyone who made this holiday special for Michael and William.  We love you very much!!

Christmas Eve ::2010::

Christmas Eve was another amazing celebration.  Den and I spent the morning with the boys, watching the snow fall and playing.  Then we were off to Gramma and Boompa's to open a couple of presents before heading over to Uncle Chris and Aunt Jane's house for a little while.  Before we knew it we were leaving to put the boys to bed and await Santa's arrival!  Den read the boys The Night Before Christmas and then we popped a bottle of champagne to celebrate our first Christmas in our new home.  I wrapped a few gifts while Dennis assembled a few things and then I went on to cook until 4 AM- we were hosting Christmas Day Brunch for the first time the next day.  I loved every bit of it!  Pics...

Two Rolls Ahead of His Brother.

It's official, William is rolling over in both directions.  It took Michael almost five months to roll from his belly to his back and almost seven to go the other direction.  Will is an overachiever and completed this task a mere four days apart from one another.  He isn't doing it regularly quite yet, but he's getting there.

Pre-Christmas Celebration.

Christmas has come and gone, but some of these memories will last forever.  We kicked off our holiday celebration by spending a day baking treats for Den's clients and then delivering them while we checked out Christmas lights.  I gave Den the worst job, unwrapping all of the Hershey Kisses for my "Heaven in a Pretzel" treats.  He did a great job, but wasn't very happy about his role in the baking process.

Wednesday was super exciting because Nathan introduced Kelly to the rest of the family over adult beverages, music and of course... dancing!!  What a great time we had.  I think Kelly's first impression of us is dead on... we're all crazy!

To top it all off I ordered Dennis a full Santa costume to wear this year so the boys could take pics with Santa without the long lines and outrageous prices at the mall.  It's the start of a new tradition in our house.  Michael wasn't phased by it at all, just went about his business as though the jolly guy was meant to be standing in our living room.  So, Dennis showed up over at his parents' house dressed as St. Nick, and it was a big hit!

Here are the pics from those two events!

I forgot to mention that we may have another new tradition over at Mike and Jane's place, THE LIGHT SHOW...

And last but not least, a gift for you from Nathan and Dennis.  Those boys... please excuse the lyrics of the song and pay attention to their moves!

A Crafting Christmas!!

I've been working on a few new projects as of late for the holiday season.  First, an ornament wreath for the front door.  Next, some ice blue and sharkskin decor for the dining room.  My favorite- our mistletoe nook!  Lastly, a sheet music wreath for over the fireplace.  I've been so inspired by many different moms in the blogging world lately that I've decided that I'm going to kick off the new year with a new blog of my own.  Keep your eyes open for "Because I Had a Minute...".  I'm so excited!!

Lights Out at 8:00!

That's the single sentence that describes my birthday this year.  We had the whole day planned...

1.  Drop boys off with Gramma and Boompa for the night.
2.  Make Laura Pup drive us to our location, Another Round.
3.  Meet up with friends and partake in shenanigans until the wee hours of the morning.
4.  Eat at some point during the shenanigans.
5.  Go home and enjoy our empty/quiet house.

Yeah, it went something like this...

Steps 1-2.5 run smoothly.  I made Nate drive Dennis and I home at 8 PM where I proceeded to pass out on the couch and leave my husband to his own devices.  Because I told him I absolutely could not go to dinner he took it upon himself to make gnoche at 10:00 PM and make a mess of my kitchen.  I woke up at 2:30 AM a little confused.  I blame Bri North.  We were celebrating her recent engagement to Jay K. (Dennis' best friend from Wesleyan) with small drinks of Jager taken in rapid succession.  Congrats to Bri and Jay on their engagement, and to me for not getting sick.
